Shop While You Save

Those of you that know me understand my relationship with retail therapy. Whether it be physical shopping or cleaning out my closet, there's something about retail products that just ease my mind. Over the course of the last year or so, I've taken the time to carefully select my wardrobe. Pictured below is (almost) everything within my wardrobe, and I can assure you that roughly 90% of my wardrobe was purchased on sale or second hand.

This post is going to sound pretty biased since I am employed by Second Chic, but it is such an easy way to make some side cash I couldn't not share it with all of you. Second Chic is a second hand consignment shop for men's and women's clothing. Their take is alil' different from other consignment shops such as Platos Closet or Clothes Mentor. Instead of paying the consigner outright, they compensate 40% in check form or 50% in store credit for what the clothes/accessories sell for.

The consigners clothes are on the floor for 90 days. The first 30 days at full price, second 30 days at 25% off, and the last 30 days for 50% off. The staff puts hard work and energy into personally researching each article of clothing to match an appropriate price. At the end of the 90 days, the consigner has to make a decision when they originally sign their contract whether they want the items that didn't sell to be returned to them, or donated to Journey's End Refugee Services, Inc.

The unique spin on Second Chic is the items they accept. They specialize in vintage clothing, designer brands, and even every day brands such as Forever 21 or H&M. There's a little something for everyone. The other great component is that your money never expires. It's such an awesome way to retire your closet and then refill it with something new (to you)... or pay your electric bill, whichever you fancy. They accept clothing every month from the 5th-15th so you have a few days to gather some items you are ready to part with.

Second Chic has three locations:

1. 810 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222 | @secondchicbuffalo

2. 5454 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14221 | @secondchicwville

3. 739 South Clinton Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620 | @secondchicwedge

Here's a peek at my recent purchases this week. Brands include: Free People, Zara, Anthropologie, Dolce Vita, Umgee, and Franco Sarto.

(PSA: the shoes, however, are from Nordstrom Rack).

xx,
