This year, I joined the American Advertising Federation Buffalo Chapter with fellow members of Canisius Advertising Club. As a new club to Canisius campus, Advertising Club wanted to try something different by finding a direct connection with the Buffalo community. AAF was the perfect fit as it is made up of over 300 professional, student, and corporate members with a mission to bridge the gap of creativity.
Through their collaboration, education, and networking efforts, AAF (Buffalo chapter) connects creative-savvy minds in the area. I'm writing this post to encourage those in the agency inspired field of marketing, communications, public relations, and creativity to sign up for a membership. AAF also has a chapter in Rochester for all you Rochesterians. The organization hosts a number of year-round events, including national speakers, skill shops, networking events, student scholarship opportunities, and their biggest event, the Addy Awards. Below is a sneak peek to some of the events I have had the pleasure of attending this semester.

Spotlight Series: Todd Radom
A designer, illustrator, typographer, writer, and creative individual involved in the world of professional sports through his expertise on logo design
Upcoming: Career Panel at Canisius College The members of Canisius Advertising Club collaborated with #AAFBuffalo to host an event to share their professional expertise on entering the workforce with the Canisius campus. If you'd like your questions answered or you're interested in supporting AAF and Canisius efforts, pick up your tickets to this event here! You don't have to be a member to attend.
Chances are, if you are already apart of an established agency in Buffalo or Rochester, your company will pay for your membership to AAF (score!) But that isn't always the case. If you are interested in becoming a part of this organization, click here if you live in Rochester, and click here if you live in Buffalo. (Side note: if you aren't a part of an agency and would like to be, these websites also post current job listings for agency life opportunities in the area).
Happy networking!
xx,
