You know those people in your life who are just so stinkin' great you have no problem putting your phone down for five minutes (or in our case four hours) to connect with? That's how I feel about my girl KT. We spent our after hours hump day over at Cure. The ambiance, beverages, grub, and conversation were all so pleasant I completely forgot to photograph my experience to share with you all. Luckily, I was able to sneak one in in between courses, and gather another from Kimmy from her previous visit (pictured above).
The breakdown: Cure is located right in the middle of the Rochester Public Market. All of their food is created in house, minus the bread which comes from Flour City (but as our bartender Dara mentioned, they are both under the same roof - so it still counts). They host a happy hour with $6 cocktails and finger foods from 4:30 - 7:00 every Wednesday to Sunday. Dara behind the bar is seriously the sweetest human being. Her ora will ensure a relaxing evening, and her skills will ensure an amazing beverage in your hand.
Our experience: Although I didn't recognize a majority of the components on the menu, I can assure you every single thing we ordered was well worth it. Dara helped us navigate the menu, and gave us the scoop on some of her favorites. I am happy to pass those suggestions along to all of you:
1. Kimmy and I favor gin cocktails, so we each had (a couple, hehe) Fitzgerald's. Slight lemon-sour taste, but an insanely refreshing summer evening cocktail.
2. As for appetizers, we ordered Foie Gras Toast & Mushroom Mousse, and Duck Caramel Corn. The duck, oooooooooh my gosh.
3. And for the entree, we split the Pork Shank Pistou. PSA: I was astonished at the size of this thing! Us two girls split with leftovers remaining to take home.
Make the time to stop by Cure, it will be well worth your while. Enjoy!
xx,
