And The Silver Sixpence In Her Shoe

My graduation party was generated by the kind acts of borrowing and donation. You know, kind of like that tradition from that Old English rhyme?

1. Something old: the tablecloths and additional decor that I rummaged from Kimmy's cupboards 2. Something new: the extra paper and plastic products from a recent graduation party for a fellow IHS alum

3. Something borrowed: the tents and the tables

4. Something blue: my Grandma's embroidered table cloth that dressed the gift table

Just as the madness of the morning set-up dissolved, I stood there for a split second to appreciate the imagination that was put into this shindig. The imagination used by my Aunt Kimmy to produce the gorgeous floral arrangements out of twenty Wegmans roses, the imagination used by my Aunt Jane to dominate that homemade lemon bar recipe, the imagination used by my dad to drill the holes in the bottom of the umbrellas as he watched me struggle to determine a practical way of hanging them, and my very own imagination to create a scenery out of an array of objects that have already been used together in a handful of alternative ways.

Below is a sneak peek to my party to use as some inspiration for your outdoor events this summer. I hope my team inspires you to work with what you and your loved ones have to save a pretty penny.
