Stay Fit This Summer

I am twenty three years old and until Memorial Day this past May, I had never had a gym membership. Terrible to admit, but it is the honest truth.

Now that I work downtown, I began to consider gyms closer to the area to motivate me to stop and workout before my drive home. Thanks to wonder woman Adrienne, I was introduced to M/Body. M/Body is a class-based gym and juice bar located on University Avenue. The facility is perfect for beginners like me who haven't the slightest clue as to what they are doing when they approach a gym. Molly and the rest of her squad offer classes that welcome all levels including: barre, yoga, pilates fusion, circuit training, cycling, body sculpting, boxing, boot camp, and dance inspired classes.

M/Body classes have become apart of my daily work-week routine to squeeze in after sitting at my desk for eight hours. They have an easy-to-navigate app that posts the schedule days in advance so you can sign up and/or cancel classes with the click of a button.

They also host great events. This past Monday, Adrienne, Allie, and I attended the first "trio-class." twenty minutes of cycling, twenty minutes of salsa fusion, and twenty minutes of boxing. It kicked our asses! But Kwasi, Saadiq, and Prince motivated us through the hour. You can also attend SUP classes off-site at the Irondequoit Creek, or Barre-to-Bar classes that are collaborated with local bars and restaurants.

If you can't commit to a monthly membership, M/Body offers bundles as well as individual classes. In my case, I signed up just in time for their summer promo paired with the recent college discount. It will only better you to pop in and give it a try, even if it is just for a class! Be sure to grab a delicious juice on your way out.
