It is my first week back in Buffalo and what better way to celebrate than with a buffet and some brews? Jodi and I attended Ru's Pierogi's One Year Anniversary party on Monday night along side some fellow bloggers, family members, and the Buffalo News.
The cozy, industrial space was filled with pleasant cooks and bartenders. The food was unique, and the drink menu catered to every guest. There isn't a doubt in my mind that I would return to dine in on any other night (especially to take advantage of their happy hour specials). The buffet featured some of Ru's Pierogi's best, and we had the pleasure of tasting the following:
1. The Cheddar Potato Pierogi: Sautéed and served with pickled jalapenos, bacon, housemade spicy sour cream, and chives
2. The Chicken Wing Pierogi: Fried and served with bleu cheese and hot sauce
3. Banana Pepper and Cheese Pierogi: Fried and served with sour cream
4. A Pierogi that resembled a Spinach and Artichoke Dip: That I wish I could find on the menu 5. A Kielbasa and Sauerkraut Dish
And here are a few photos provided by Matt Weinberg from the Buffalo News to illustrate Ru's Pierogi's branding and interior design a step further:
Aside from their Niagara Street Location, Ru's Pierogi's can also be found on wheels in the Buffalo area, as well as in the aisles of your local Wegmans. Do yourself a favor and give these pierogis a taste!
xx,
