One last holiday post for all you last minute gift-gatherers this season: the DIY Honey Sugar Lip Scrub.
This lip scrub has become a staple in my every day routine as the cold weather has invited some chapped lips. You can make it with ingredients you most likely already have at home, and it doubles as an ideal stocking stuffer for my fellow Western New Yorkers embracing the cold.
The ingredients:
1. 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
2. 1 teaspoon of honey
3. 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
4. An optional dash of cinnamon (as a natural lip plumper)
The process:
1. Mix everything in a bowl until you have a paste-like substance
2. Store in a smaller sized, sealable container
To use:
1. Apply a small amount to your lips in a circular, massaging motion (PSA: it is safe to eat, and it is in fact, delicious)
2. I typically leave it on for about a minute to let it solidify and soak up any dead skin cells
3. Rinse off with warm water
4. Follow-up with a lip balm of your choice (I use Aquaphor)
Keep them lips kissable for the mistletoes this weekend!
xx,
